2002 Preseason:  A Western All-Star in his first season with the Roughriders, Peoples has dramatically improved the performance of a group that was once the weakest in the CFL.  This season, with the emergence of DT Nate Davis and the signing of Peoples' former partner DE Ray Jacobs, this group has the potential to be one of the best in the league.

2001 Preseason: Gives Riders much needed pass rush, especially with the loss of CFL All-Star DT Demetrious Maxie to NFL Chicago Bears.

2000 Regular Season:  CFL All-Star in 2000.   Second in league in sacks with 12.  This is his second go-around as a Rider.   Riders selected Peoples in 1996 U.S. Dispersal Draft, but Peoples could not (or would not) report to camp.  Because of a criminal conviction in Michigan, Peoples was denied entry into Canada and Riders could not work out anything with immigration officials in time for the 1996 season.  Peoples sat out 1996 and his rights were taken by Winnipeg, who signed him in 1997.  Had a tryout with NFL Chicago Bears in 1998 and returned to Blue Bombers for one game before Bombers released him (at Peoples' request, after coach Jeff Reinebold was fired).  Joined Calgary Stampeders for rest of 1998.   Did not play in 1999 because of immigration problems again.

College:  All-Big 10 strong safety at Michigan.   Has bulked up considerably to first play linebacker, and now defensive end in the professional ranks.  Gained notoriety at Michigan, not only for his stellar play, but also for being convicted of a felony charge of assault with a deadly weapon when he fired a pistol at police thinking they were thieves trying to steal the $7000 stereo in his brand new Jeep.

Those were the days:  A younger (and thinner) Shont'e (#3) at Michigan.
