Pos: WR Hometown: Montreal, Quebec 2002 Preseason: A surprising starter in 2002, French had his moments in his rookie season. Will need to be more consistent if he is to improve his game, but he does provide a nice big target for his quarterbacks. Scouting Report: Considered a bit of a project. Has all of the attributes you would look for in a receiver, is big and fast, but did not see a lot of playing time in college. Would require a lot of polish to play regularly in the pros. Personal: One of four Riders who are actually Americans, but can claim non-import status because they lived in Canada for at least five years prior to their fifteenth birthday (the others are Dylan Ching from Hawaii, Andrew Moore from California and Jeremy O'Day from Buffalo). Born in Montreal, French's family moved to Atlanta, Georgia when he was still in grade school. Had never played Canadian football, competitively, until turning pro with the Riders in 2001. |
